Antique French Samuel Marti Figural Mantel Clock – 8-Day Bell Strike – c.1870–1890

Impressive late 19th-century French figural mantel clock, standing approximately 53 cm (21 inches) high and fitted with a quality Samuel Marti et Cie 8-day mechanical movement.

The elaborate patinated spelter case depicts a seated gentleman surrounded by floral and decorative elements, retaining traces of its original bronzed and gilt finish.

The clock features an attractive polished black dial with applied gilt/brass Roman numerals, surrounded by a decorative gilt bezel.

The French 8-day mechanical movement strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell and is currently in working order.
