Description

An impressive vintage 1972 Kennedy Mint “United States 20th Century Coins” framed collection, presenting approximately two dozen examples of historic American coinage in a large educational display.

Produced during the early 1970s, the collection traces the changing designs of United States circulating coinage through much of the 20th century.

Original U.S. coins are arranged around a colourful patriotic composition featuring historic and contemporary American flags, accompanied by printed descriptions identifying the individual coin types and periods in which they circulated.

The collection includes examples representing the Indian Head and Lincoln cents, Liberty and Buffalo nickels, Jefferson nickels, Barber and Mercury coinage, Standing Liberty and Washington quarters, Walking Liberty, Franklin and Kennedy half dollars, Morgan silver dollar and Eisenhower dollar, among others.

Several of the historic coins represented in the collection contain silver, adding genuine numismatic and intrinsic interest to the display.

At the base is a separately identified 1776 Continental Dollar replica, included by the manufacturer to represent the much earlier Continental Currency dollar. It should not be confused with an original 18th-century Continental dollar.
