Rare Antique French Alabaster & Opaline Glass Night Clock – Circa 1890

A beautiful and unusual late 19th-century French night clock, dating to approximately 1890.

This charming clock features a distinctive spherical white opaline glass shade with large Roman numerals and minute track, mounted above a cylindrical brass clock housing.

The clock is supported on an elegant turned pedestal incorporating a genuine alabaster sphere and matching circular alabaster base with aged gilt-metal detailing.

Internally, this style of French night clock uses a traditional spring-driven mechanical movement with anchor escapement and pendulum.
