Reproduction Mechanical Birdcage Clock with Oscillating Birds & Alarm

A charming mechanical birdcage novelty clock, featuring two colourful oscillating birds within a traditional brass-finished cage.

The clock displays the time on an unusual rotating horizontal numeral band, rather than a conventional clock face. The mechanical movement operates the clock while the two birds provide an attractive animated feature.

It also incorporates a working mechanical alarm, making this an entertaining combination of clock, automaton and decorative object.

The design is inspired by the elaborate European birdcage automaton clocks and singing-bird mechanisms popular during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Features: mechanical wind-up movement; rotating time display; two oscillating birds; working alarm; brass-finished metal cage and base; approximately 16 cm high; and presented in working condition.

Condition: Good overall vintage/reproduction condition with surface wear, tarnishing and patination consistent with age and use. Clock and alarm are currently working.
